The Industry has an installed capacity of over 33.93 million Ring Spindles and around 317 thousand OE Rotors.  This large installation coupled with wide variety of locally available raw material has enabled the industry to produce yarn to match any specification and count range.  In 1998-99, of an estimated yarn production of 2808 million kgs., cotton accounted for approximately 2022 million kgs. accounting for around 72 per cent.
