Fact-Sheet 2000  |  Fact Sheet 2001 | Textile Industry In India  |

Since its inception in 1995, Tex-Styles India Fair has emerged as an ideal forum for presenting the multi-faceted splendour of the Indian textile industry and has established itself as the leading fair of its kind in South East Asia.

W
ithin a short span of just four years, in its 4th edition held in 1998, we not only exceeded our expectation on the number of participants and area booked which was in excess by 23% and 26% respectively as compared to previous year but we also managed to surpass the buyer turnout target of 1998 by ensuring the visit of approximately 3000 buyers. The number of overseas buyers in 1998 was 2303 as compared to 1426 previous year, an increase of 61% and the number of buying agents increased from 460 on 1997 to 670 in 1998.

Keeping up the momentum of previous year’s enthusiastic response, Tex-Styles India’99 registered a record turnout of more than 8,500 buyers including 2,000 Overseas Buyers from as many as 80 countries who collectively did business worth 70 million US dollars.   Tex-styles India 2000 attracted more than 9000 buyers including 2770 overseas buyers from as many as 84 countries who collectively did business worth US$ 74 Million US Dollars.  While most major textile related fairs around the Globe experienced a sharp drop in both participation and visitor turnout, Tex-Styles India’99 fair witnessed a  increase in participation and a record turnout of buyers. The Fair drew applaud and acclaim from the trade, industry and bureaucracy. Overseas visitors too felt that India had come of age if Tex-Styles India ’2000 was an indication of the Fairs which are held in India. They also felt that the get up of the show was probably the best ever seen in India and buyers compared it to the Heimtextil of the East and a "Street out of Paris".
